I have had a love of technology since a child. While young, one of my earliest memories was taking apart my fathers drill piece by piece because I needed to understand how it worked. While this was not the best move for a child to do with his fathers drill, it awakened something in me. I now had this need to understand how things worked.
Later, my educational dreams were focused on technology. Every computer technology or programming class that was available, I signed up for. Teachers and professors used to tease me because I didn't want to know how they did it, I wanted to know how I could accomplish the ideas I dreamed of.
When I finally entered fully into my professional career, I would only move forward with jobs in technology. Finally a job opportunity arose and I jumped on it. I entered in at the lowest position with a technology integration company. To even maintain holding this job for so little money, I worked nights waiting tables because during the day, I was doing and learning what I loved. Soon the owners took interest in me and I quickly climbed the ladder. I became the Project manager of the North West region, covering WA, OR, WY and HI. Managing and being an intricate part of the infrastructure of the up and coming business in the major cities was thrilling. Traveling 50% of the month was tough (to say the least) on my wife and our newly adopted son.
I reset my sight on the local Seattle market where I found a marketing agency who was one of the largest in the medical industry. They had a need for a Technology Director and Project Manager so I made the switch. Stepping into the real of the "web" was so exciting. A new frontier that is still being pioneered and I get to be a part of it. The infrastructure of website builds, search engine optimization, server management and domain controllers was completely revamped and made thing more efficient and profitable.
As I wrap up, "getting to know me", I just want to say, I am so excited to be in the technology career path because technology is growing and evolving daily and it people like me get to grow and evolve with it.
